Bio
Hugo Estes is a CrossFit O.G.—he started in 2010 after getting bored with the classic chest-and-triceps, back-and-biceps routine in conventional gyms. He joined the Rushmore CrossFit staff in September 2019, bringing eight years of CrossFit coaching experience to the team. The variety in movement and intensity is what drew Hugo to CrossFit, but what he’s most passionate about now is helping people get and stay healthy. After watching his parents struggle with their health and fitness, he wants to show people that “movement doesn’t have to hurt, and you don’t have to live life in that state of constant fatigue or headaches or back aches or knee pain; we have a fix for it,” he said. With a military background—Hugo still serves in the Air National Guard—he runs a tight ship, but is devoted to the CrossFit coaching philosophy of “educate, inspire and entertain.” “I can help you improve your squat and I can inspire you to go a little bit heavier in weight with that squat, but I can also make you laugh all within the same hour,” he said. Whatever your goals and wherever you are on your fitness journey, Hugo is dedicated to helping you live life better with health and fitness. “Whether you’re an 18-year-old or a 75-year-old, we can still teach you to move well and to prolong that movement throughout the remaining years of your life, whatever that may be.”
