January Athlete of the Month is Lauren Brandt. Lauren has a goal of WODing until her due date in February. Lauren shows up and is always positive about working out. If you haven’t been to a class with Lauren, she usually WOD’s at 4:30PM, she’s found ways to modify most movements. We love her drive to have a healthy pregnancy. We can’t wait for Baby Girl Brandt to make her appearance and be a future CrossFitter with her mom.

Personal: I have been trying to stress less. Being a perfectionist, that is not always the easiest, however stress is no good for the body!
Professional: To continue to make my patients’ lives less painful and more enjoyable by helping them stay mobile and active.
CrossFit: Currently my main goal at the gym is to return to my previous level (and hopefully stronger, more PRs, etc) after I have this baby!!
Achievements: Graduating with my Doctorate of Physical Therapy and having a job i really enjoy each day!
Hobbies and Interests: Other than exercising (running and Crossfit), I really enjoy traveling and cooking/baking!
Something we don’t know about you: I married my high school sweetheart, we are both from Iowa and have already moved across the country twice! (To Texas and now to South Dakota)
Advice to new members or someone looking to start CrossFit: Don’t give up!! It’s going to be hard at first, that’s a given, however stick with it and keep in mind you can modify everything! (I’m 8 months pregnant and still doing WODs but with lots of modifications!)
